Scope: PICES-2023 occurs just a few years intothe United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and is achance to assess PICES progress to date and set a path for the rest of theDecade. The meeting will focus on developing and strengthening PICES diversepartnerships, building on existing joint activities and promotingcross-fertilization. Priorities for PICES within the Decade focus on climatechange, fisheries and ecosystem-based management, social, ecological andenvironmental dynamics of marine systems, coastal communities, traditionalecological knowledge and human dimensions. Opportunities to engage newpartners, especially around the cross-cutting themes of Early Career OceanProfessionals, diverse communities, and engaging with local and Indigenouscommunities are especially encouraged.
